The African Union planned to launch an all-African
Passport that will grant Visa-free travel to 54 member states in the African
Union.
The passport will be issues in 2020, until now only 13
African countries are currently open to African citizens without visas.
The aim is to encourage integration with free movement across
the African continent
Easing visa requirements among African countries will
support economic growth, it will offer new work, study and travel opportunities
and boost trade affairs in Africa. This closer integration could mean big state
override smaller one.
Critics also fear open borders could enable terrorists
groups and organized crime groups but the African Union says increased
cooperation will do the opposition
